Worship Music
“The aim and reason of all music is none else but the glory of God and the refreshment of the spirit.” – Johann Sebastian Bach
Music is an essential way we worship and build community. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!
Peace Lutheran is abundantly blessed with many talented singers, ringers, and instrumentalists. Our vocal and handbell choirs provide leadership during worship and inspire congregational singing. Do you want to make a joyful noise with us singing or playing your own beloved instrument? Come and join us! We look forward to potential new members or those just interested in learning more about the Peace Lutheran Church Music Ministry program. For any questions or inquiries, please contact us.
Choirs of Peace
Voices of Peace
Voices of Peace is a traditional church vocal choir that provides music leadership for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service two or three times a month. The choir sings both classical and more contemporary anthems and hymn arrangements. Choir members occasionally provide special music as soloists or in small groups during the summer services when the full choir is on break. Voices of Peace practice Mondays at 6:45, September through May, except holidays. Contact the office for more information.
Messengers of Peace
Messengers of Peace is a contemporary choral group that leads the service on the third Sunday of each month and provides music for other special occasions. The music ranges from ancient and folk music to contemporary standards, and includes music from a variety of countries and cultures. Messengers practice Tuesdays at 7:30 all year. Contact the office for more information.
Bells of Peace
Peace has five octaves of Schulmerich handbells and five octaves of Malmark choir chimes. Bells of Peace is open to youth and adults. (Training on choir chimes often begins in first grade; children are introduced to handbells in the third or fourth grade.) The Bell Choir plays once each month, on festival and holiday services, and in a spring concert. No auditions are required to join the bell choir; anyone interested in joining will be provided instruction. Bells of Peace practices Mondays at 7:45, except holidays, September through May. Contact the office for more information.
Brass of Peace
An auditioned brass choir, Brass of Peace is composed of high school musicians from throughout the metropolitan area. They give both a spring and fall concert at Peace, and twice per year provide music for our worship service.
Singing Angels
Singing Angels is a children’s and youth choir that brings joyful voices to worship and community events. With a wide repertoire ranging from sacred to seasonal music, the choir sings for Sunday services, the Spring Concert, and the Advent Caroling Festival, performing about four times a year. Rehearsals are held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays after the morning service. Children as young as 4 years old are welcome to join—no music-reading ability is required, just a love for singing!
Brass of Peace
Genesis Ringers is a hand chime and handbell choir that is open to children in 3rd grade through high school. The goals of this choir are to develop the ringing and other musical skills of its members, and to give them opportunities to support worship with their music and to perform the Advent Carol Festival and Spring Concert. Music is selected to be accessible to all of the ringers and to further develop their skills. Rehearsals are held on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, after the 10:30 worship service.
Our Music
Talented instrumentalists who are members of Peace often share their music with us. If you would like to share your musical talent, contact the office for more information. Visit our YouTube channel for more recordings of past musical performances!
