Sunday School

Sunday School Classes

We are back to in-person learning for Sunday School as of May 2022!  Please contact nadia@sharingpeace.org to find out details or if you’re interested in faith formation leadership opportunities.

Sunday school typically uses a mixture of curricula and original material. We read Bible stories from the Whirl Story Bible, look at a variety of Christian and faith-based art forms and ask “what do we notice?,” sing together, and gather for fellowship periodically. For Sunday school of spring 2022, we are trying out the Whirl All Kids curriculum, focusing on various aspects of Jesus’ ministry.

6th – 8th graders are in virtual Confirmation Class on Wednesday evenings. Confirmation students also meet monthly with a group of confirmation students from partner churches; hosting and leadership rotates among the participating churches.

High school youth are invited to participate in the life and leadership of the church in various ways, including as youth representatives to council representatives, through serving in worship as lectors or acolytes, and on various projects and teams. There are currently weekly half-hour Zoom check-ins to share highs and lows, discuss life and faith questions, and pray, as well as to periodic in-person gatherings with youth from other area Lutheran churches for pizza, games and discussion based on the Holy Troublemakers and Unconventional Saints curriculum.
