Council President, Fellowship Liaison

Norm Philion, President, was born in Colchester, Vermont. He served in the Air Force from 1965 to 1969 as a Russian linguist/interpreter. He graduated from Indiana University (Bloomington) in 1972 with a BA in History, and from Duke University School of Law with a JD in 1975. He was an associate and partner in the Washington office of a Cleveland-based law firm from 1975 to 2000. He retired from the practice of law in 2000 and took on a second career as a middle school teacher of math and literature at schools in the Archdiocese of Washington and the Diocese of Arlington. After 18 years of teaching, Norm retired in 2017, and currently volunteers his time as a docent at both the Library of Congress and the Folger Shakespeare Library. He looks forward to serving the congregation and the greater church in ways that benefit everyone.
