Spending on nutrition comprises nearly 80% of all spending allocated in the Farm Bill. Of that, 95% goes to SNAP. If these funds are reduced, people go hungry. Michael retired from USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service after 30+ years of service in Washington D.C. and overseas and currently volunteers as market manager at the Annandale Farmers Market at Mason District Park in Annandale. He is also a volunteer for Britepaths, a private voluntary organization that administers SNAP at the market. This is the third in a series of planned events about the Farm Bill.
