Hi families! I wanted to share three great options for VBS this summer. You may know that Peace has a tradition of teaming up with St. Alban’s to send attendees as well as volunteers, and that connection is meaningful and wonderful, but please also take note of the other two VBS options as they all take place on different dates and have come personally recommended by families at Peace and/or Pastor Sarah. So here they are in order of the dates they happen:

    • Good Shepherd Lutheran, July 9-13, 9-4 (extended care available): For children ages 6-10, this is a week long summer VBS camp; counselors from Mar-Lu-Ridge Lutheran Camp will be on site. Cost is $125/person for the week to help cover costs. Learn more…
    • St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, July 29-August 2, 5:30 dinner and programs 6-8 pm: This is for children ages 3 – 6th grade. Rising 7th graders and older teens can volunteer! Click here for more information and please find the registration form attached.
    • St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, August 6-10, from 9:00-12:00 (aftercare available): For children ages 3 (and potty trained) through the 5th grade. Camp is free! Sign up from now until July 22nd by registering here or with the attached flier. Also, volunteers of all kinds are needed; please contact Melanie Jillson at meljillson@gmail.com directly if you or your teen can help out.

Also, here is a great site that I found that compiles a listing of DC metro area VBS options – there are 79 of them listed, and maybe some options that fit for your commute if that is a consideration. Lastly, if your family has had a great experience with another camp or VBS, please let me know so that I can pass along the information!

Blessings amid the spring showers and may flowers!
