Words for the Week – May 16, 2019

This Sunday, we have a joint worship service with House of Faith International at the 10:30 am service and a lovely choir concert at 4:00 pm.

It will be my last Sunday at Peace before I take a three-month sabbatical.  While I am looking forward to the rest and rejuvenation, I will miss you.  During the adult forum, I will talk about my sabbatical plans.  An FAQ about my sabbatical is available in the most recent newsletter.

On Saturday, we will host Greg Ruchti’s Memorial Service.  Details are available here.   Greg was an amazing person and his death touches people deeply.  I know many of you are grieving and my prayers go out for you.

Everyone is welcome at the service.  In addition to Peace members, we expect hundreds of guests as Greg and his family are beloved by many communities near and far. We are setting up overflow seating and a livestream in the Fellowship Hall.

I ask Peace members to consider sitting in overflow seating in order to make room for guests.  Also, if you are able, please park on the street instead of the parking lot.  Many of you have helped already and I thank you for all you’ve done to show God’s love to the Ruchti family in this time.

Finally, last Sunday, it was a true joy to witness Chis and Emma confirming their faith.   A recording of their faith statements will be available online next week.

Be at Peace,
Pastor Sarah
