Book Study in October of Deitrich Bonhoeffer’s “Cost of Discipleship”

Mondays in October, 7 – 8:15 pm.

October  5, 12, 19, and 26

Pastor Sarah will lead a book study on Deitrich Bonhoeffer’s Cost of Discipleship. In it, against the backdrop of the rise of the Nazi party, Bonhoeffer reflects on Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount to answer the question: “what is Jesus saying to us today?”

You will be emailed the Zoom link for the study the week before it begins. Pastor Sarah will let you know which pages to focus on each week.

Small Group Study on Race and White Privilege

Peace’s second Troubling the Waters group will begin on Wednesday, September 16 at 7:00 – 8:30 pm. This group will build on the experiences of the first group and will use an updated curriculum.  The curriculum is committed to self-reflection and awareness around issues of race and, in particular, the reality of white privilege, and action in the church context. Described as a journey from privilege to partnership, this initiative seeks to invite people to “look forward to being transformed by the Spirit from persons of privilege to partner in building not only a more inclusive and multicultural church, but also a more just world.”

If you are interested in being part of the next group starting in Fall 2020, please email Nadia Fitzcharles (nadia@sharingpeace.org) to find out more.

Faithful Families – No meetings during the summer

Faithful Families is an opportunity for families with children up to age 12 years old to get together once a month, share a meal, and focus on faith building and fellowship.
This often includes crafts, hands-on games and activities, singing, and, always: food! Watch for more information in the fall of 2020.
